About Night to Shine

Sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, Night to Shine began in 2014 with a mission to change the narrative of how the world values and honors people with disabilities through a worldwide celebration event. Just three years later, in 2017, the event expanded to all 50 states, and by 2020, it was being held on six continents.

In 2025, Williamsburg Community Chapel proudly hosted Night to Shine for the very first time. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together honored guests, caregivers, volunteers, and the community for a night filled with joy and unforgettable memories. That year marked the beginning of a beautiful new tradition in Williamsburg – an annual celebration that will continue for years to come.

An Unforgettable Evening

The evening includes red carpet treatment, a warm welcome from cheering volunteers, dancing, dinner, karaoke, photo booth and more. Each honored guest receives a crown or tiara, symbolizing that they are valued, loved, and seen as royalty in God’s eyes.

Buddies for the Night

Upon entry, each honored guest is paired with his or her “buddy.” The buddies are volunteers who serve as the guest’s personal companion for the evening. Their goal is to ensure the guest has the best possible experience.

Care and Comfort for Families

After check-in, parents and caregivers are invited to the respite room on the chapel’s second floor, where we provide a supportive atmosphere and a balcony that overlooks the event.

Free for All Guests

Night to Shine proms are always offered at no charge to guests and their caregivers, made possible by the incredible generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers.

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
